How to know if someone has blocked you on iMessage
Source: How to know if someone has blocked you on iMessage
How do you know if someone blocked you on iMessage? Well, it’s not easy to figure out, and while there are signs to look out for, nothing is conclusive. These signs could well have a completely innocent meaning. The only real way to find out if you’re blocked on iMessage is to simply ask the person for a direct response. But assuming you’d rather not ask and keep things low, here are some signs that your messages may not be reaching planet earth.

QUICK RESPONSE
To find out if you’ve been blocked on iMessage, there are a few quick but inconclusive things to consider, including the color of the iMessage text bubble, the iMessage delivery status, and whether or not you can call them. If those fail, try contacting them through another messaging app and see if your iMessage is working properly.

Has the color of the text bubble changed?
Remember that blue speech bubbles on iMessage mean you are talking to the other person on iMessage. A green speech bubble means that the message was sent as a normal SMS.
If your messages suddenly turn from blue to green, it could mean that you’ve been blocked from messaging the person on iMessage. On the other hand, they might just be out of internet range, which is kicking you both out of iMessage, or they might have switched to an Android phone without telling you.
What is the delivery status of iMessage?
Says your iMessage delivered or Not delivered? If it says Delivered, it’s not blocked. If it says Undelivered, it could mean you’ve been blocked. On the other hand, the person may have turned that off Send read receipts feature so you don’t realize they’ve read your message.
Can you reach them through other messaging apps?
Assuming they haven’t blocked you on other messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, you can try contacting them on those platforms and see if your messages get through. However, be extremely careful because if they initially blocked you for harassment, sending messages on other platforms could put you in serious legal jeopardy.
So just send a message and ask them if they blocked you on iMessage and wait for them to reply. If they don’t respond, there’s a pretty big red flag right there. On WhatsApp, you can look for the two blue ticks that indicate the message has been read – assuming you haven’t disabled the feature on your device.

This must also be accompanied by free legal advice. Be careful when calling the person as this could easily be interpreted as harassment or stalking. We don’t want to have to come and get you out of jail. But you should be able to get away with one phone call.
If they have blocked you on their iPhone, they will not hear the call. Your side rings once and goes straight to voicemail. It could mean they’re busy and don’t have time to talk, but it could also mean you’re blocked. If you leave a voicemail, they won’t be notified so they won’t hear it later.
Maybe it’s you, not her?
The last possibility is that there is nothing wrong with her side – maybe there is yours? Maybe your iMessage isn’t working on your device or isn’t configured properly?
We previously covered a troubleshooting list of things to try when iMessage isn’t working. At least make sure it’s turned on properly. iMessage can even be down on Apple’s servers (although this is very rare). Contact Apple Support and find out the current status of iMessage.
